DOI

Digital Object Identifier

A code used to permanently and stably identify (usually digital) objects. DOIs provide a standard mechanism for retrieval of metadata about the object, and generally a means to access the data object itself.

Spectral Energy Distribution

Graph of the energy emitted by a star as a function of wavelength.

UCD

Unified Content Descriptor

Formal vocabulary for astronomical data that is controlled by the International Virtual Observatory Alliance (IVOA). A UCD does not define the units nor the name of a quantity, but rather “what sort of quantity is this?”; for example phys.temperature represents a temperature, without implying a particular unit.
